Morning,
I am trying to find out about the clubs that control the Wyre in west Lancs.
I am in the Wigan AA who have a couple of stretches but I would like to find out a little more about the fishing on this wonderfull little river. have any of you guys ever fished it?

Mark.
PAAS control a stretch at St,Michaels, also Wyresdale Anglers control 10 miles of river upstream of Scorton along with the fishing on 3 lakes.
This is a unique fly fishing club in this day and age.
Check out their website wyrsedale anglers.
Hope this helps.
John

Well, just had a look at this club on there website...No membership fee advertised, and we know why don't we, those that can afford this sort of club don't need to ask a price!
Sorry John, but it's out of my league and probably most of the guys on this forum!!

Hi Mark,I fish the Wyre every week, either the WAA or St.Michaels AA beats.
Its a lovely stretch of river but can be real hard work too!!.
If I were you I'd check out St.Michaels AA,dead cheap and quite a stretch of challenging fishing.

Cheers mate,

I have been to have a look at my book (Wigan) stretches and they look nice (on the photos I looked at the river just looks like a small brook, I was quite surprised!) Banks look a little steep in places though

Yeh on that side of the St.Michaels bridge it is a bit desolate to say the least.
Not many features or cover. On the other side of the bridge, going upstream,
its like a tropical paradise, well almost.
Well worth a walk upstream from the bridge, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
