Default Reel choice help?

I managed to pick up the following Rods and Reels off ebay in one sale, Preston 13ft carbonactive float rod, Preston 12ft super feeder, Middy 12ft carbon live 3 G heavy feeder and the reels where Shimano 3000 S GTM RB reel and a Abu premier 704 my question is i know its a bit of a mine field buying the right reels for the right situation but looking to get another two so i have one for each rod i cant see me using the Abu as i havent a clue how to use it!!
Been through a few old posts and heading in the Shimano area so far, will probably be just doing a bit of pleasure fishing to start then once i pick things up maybe do some local matches sold a few Sea rods and have about £200 to spend on two fixed spools, Cheers in advance

Spence.

Whilst there's no law about it, I'd tend to want to use both of the reels you have for float fishing. I'd probably look to a 4000 sized reel(s) for the feeder rods. With £100 per reel burning a hole in your pocket, you should have no problem in getting something very good for your money.

Might be worth having a look at the Bobco website. Bear in mind that every bank holiday weekend they do an extra 20% off.

Spence, IMO The Preston 13ft carbonactive float rod was an exceptional rod when it first arrived and still ticks the right boxes for me. I still enjoying using mine, bought c2000 and a friend still uses/abuses his fishing up in the water for 20lb plus carp with 8lb line.

I bought a couple of Shimano Aero Baitrunners off Ebay for feeder fishing £25 and £20 each. 3000 Size (I think) quite old but in great condition.
