Make up a STRONG solution of water and salt, drain the hemp and place in the salt solution and then use. I tend to make enough to make a PVA bag at a time.

I wonder if you could oven dry it perhaps? Chefs often extol the virtues of dry frying spice seeds to bring out the flavour. I'd put it on some foil first though and collect any oil that might leak out.

I dry fry hemp, keeping it moving all the time so it doesn't burn, let it cool and then grind it and add it too ground bait. It has a very intense nutty hempy smell
