I know this has been covered a lot and I know the usual tricks.
BUT, the lake is also full of thousands of rudd.

I thought maybe closed feeder with a few prawns and some red maggots, with a big lob on the hook.

Bar spinning, anyone able to suggest a way of avoiding the rudd?

Definitely dead rudd. There cannot be a rule against that can there?? I use about 2 or 3 inches of the tail end on a 6 barbless. Trim the tail fin so not to foul the hook.
They will take it with relish if float fished on the bottom and tweeked up every few minutes.

Never fished a cut deadbait for perch. No reason why it shouldn't work I guess. Maybe give it a go myself. Can't seem to catch any over a pound or so myself.
