Hi all,

I have recently moved to Greenwich and after many years of fishing in Yorkshire I am looking to do some course fishing near to where I live.

Has anyone had any experiences fishing in the docklands area? good or bad...

Does anyone know if it members only fishing? and if their are any date restrictions in place?

Other than that, does anyone know any good angling shops in and around that area for bait etc?

Any information, however small would be a great help

Thanks all!! happy fishing!!

If no one is able to help here try the Thames Anglers Conservancy forum plenty of London geezers on there should be able to point you in the right direction

This is a club water that is local to you and seems well run. The best shop local to you is Hemming's in Penge, there is also a shop in Welling and Danson Angling in Bexley.

No info on Docklands, I prefer more rural areas personally.

Hiya,
I had a dabble on the Isle of dogs/canary wharf docks a couple of springs back. I got a ticket by post for £10 from Isle of Dogs A.C.
I was hoping for a monster uncaught carp but a bite from anything would have done.
I`ve seen pics online of Bream around 2 lb and spoke to a guy who said he`d had big perch but after that it`s all rumours. The last time I looked at the I.O.D.A.C site gallery the pics were of the docks and a seal.
I spent a few warm afternoons walking miles around the docks looking into the clearest water I`ve ever seen. I spotted fry in some spots and a fish about 4" long in a cormorants beak.
I spent a warm evening with a friend at a bankside pub throwing in floaters of various sizes without spotting a single fish of any type show any interest.
I fished two trips after baiting up. I could see a bait on the bottom in approx 15 foot of water.
The water, at times , is unnaturally clear.
There is plenty of structure for fish to hide under but after all the looking I would expect to have seen something bigger than fry.
