advice needed

Hi there moved to hernbay last year and why working for somone local recently got talking fishing with the old chap and where to fish .*
He told me to try seasalter marshes and dykes said its quite and not much people fish it now days but he fished it his whole life and rates it said plenty of tench and got carp and pike in .*

I took the dog for a walk down there near the pump staion fished few hours but nothing part from small minnows . He said try the sportsman pub end and try up at gravney near monks hill farm ..*
Anyone with info on these dykes baits etc and best method as quite weedy could do with a rake

I fished those small dykes when I lived in Kent. Some of them you could almost jump across and they held lots of roach and rudd then.
Oh yes and eels.
If you have moved local you will have time to bait up a bit. I reckon fish are fish wherever you are and all the usual baits should work.
