Ive heard that the weir pools on the Kentish Stour in the Canterbury area are free fishing.Does anyone know where these are and have any information about them please?

budgie,ont know about the weirpool`s, but as far has I understand ,free fishing within the city wall`s.

some fat roach and bream were catchable the last time i tried - quite a while ago now though

I've heard varying reports about barbel showing in the city and in general on the Stour. Someone told me that you could see them swimming around the shopping trolleys that had been thrown in! Some parts in the city you can't fish. I think it is the stretch to the west along the Dane John(?) Perhaps someone can clarify this.
