Default Fly fishing DVDs

I've been fly fishing for years, I've got books from the US on fly casting, and a Shakespeare casting video by Ian Thompson with a guest appearance by Hywel Morgan.

Although this is useful, it was made nearly 20 years ago and it's a bit fuzzy. I wondered if there was a good upto date DVD covering advanced casting techniques ?

Has anybody any suggestions please?

Yes, I've tried You Tube. The casting clips rarely last more than a few minutes and not very informative. Many of the films of the US casting expert Lefty Kreh seem to be recorded on hand held cameras with poor sound quality.

I'd rather pay and get a DVD.

I've just bought The Complete Cast by Hywel Morgan. In the DVD he shows how to do fourteen different types of cast. He starts with a simple cast, the roll cast, and moves on to more complex casts such as the double haul, and the extended double haul. There's a menu at the beginning so you can select the cast you want to concentrate on.

For each cast, Hywel Morgan demonstrates it at the waterside. He then shows how to practise the cast on grass when you aren't able to get to a river. Finally, at the waterside again, he outlines common faults that anglers experience and demonstrates how to use the cast in certain fishing situations.

It's an excellent DVD.

Take a look at the 'Casts that catch fish' dvd from On The Fly Productions. You'll struggle to find advanced technique dvds better than that one.
