I was on the line this morning to an old friend of mine in South Africa.

Amongst other things, some positive and a few negative, the authorities have made a law preventing the putting of the indigenous yellowfish into keepnets. They are not even allowed to be weighed-in in matches. This is a nation wide bylaw and people found with a dead yellowfish in their possession face a prison sentence.

The yellowfishes are closely related to the European barbel and like our fish, are fairly delicate and will not stand much handling.

Might this sort of rule become law here?
