Now the thread is moving in all directions - my point is the ACA is seemingly totally opposed to the Severn barrage.

Is that a view supported by anglers or a stance by the ACA because they are the ACA?

Ask most anglers on the Tees, and for totally selfish reasons, they will tell you that the Tees Barrage has been the best thing ever to happen on the river. There may be a problem with migratory fish getting up the river but to99.9% of anglers who fish the riverthat's not a problem.

The ACA give their reasons, only those anglers with experience of the effects of the barrages around the country can give theirs.

It appears from the ACA's viewpoint, there are more environmentaly favourable methods of producing electricity, than the building of a barrage on the Severn estuary.

I'm not certain,if any of the other barrages were built for electricity production, more likely for flood defence..
