Stradic x gtm 4000

Been looking on ebay for another one of these, seems they make quite a bit more second hand than the later models? - question everyone seems to ask is 'was it made in Japan or Malaysia' with the Japanese models making the money!

Anyone know why this is, was the Japanese factory so much better?
