That won't make the slightest difference Matt, still gonna catch bream on it hey

The only good thing with no ground bait is that it won't draw attention and bring loads of bream into yer swim but just because you've got a single hook bait on don't mean that you ain't gonna get bream because I can assure that at some stage you will :wh

Roll on the day when fishing becomes an exact science and you can just catch whatever you want. It'll be great.

Ha ha yes , all I was asking for was some advice what to do to try to get past the bream , tried to feed them off but there too many in there . As said chap next to me was catching carp he was spodding on and off all day .

Shame not a bait that will deter them

Try a tiger nut...its not 100% Bream proof but it may help.

If the lake has some good Carp use a donkey choker boiler ..and by that I mean 50mm+

....if all else fails setup a light float or tip rod and have some fun bagging up on Bream....

Ban on nuts I'm afraid , there are not any huge carp specimens into 20's but it's where I thought best to learn how to fish carp style . Someone told me bream don't like hemp ???

I did have a quivertip in the holdall but when it's raining I find it awkward fishing under a brolley when lift rod up to cast .

I did find the bream loved pva bags with boyant corn in though !

If fishing blind its a bream a chuck then you could try stalking to single out the Carp.

Or ..

Sit tight keep catching Bream and hope a Carp turns up eventually. The Bream activity will attract the Carp as well so just play the lottery game until a Carp gets to the bait first.

As said erlier the carp was on the surface so I thinking I'm going to spool a reel up with some floater line and take some floaters with me .

Or as you say wade your way through the bream . Guess il have to start clipping up and spodding a bed of bait .

well I reckon fish for bream on this lake and find another for carp fishing with no bream, that way you'll be able to learn how to fish for carp

Dopey fish, you wanna try hooking and playing a river bream 8 - 10 lb on a feeder rod, got loads of bream reaching that size in the lower Thames, when I say loads I mean literally shouls going into the hundreds with average size between 5 - 6 lb,

Big bream certainly ain't a dopey fish Matt
