Default Battered.....

Last Sunday fished a club match (URACS) at Milton pools Oxford.
Drew disappointingly and got battered. £25 lost
Tuesday fished the open at Farlows in Uxbridge, bream being the target fish, got battered. £25 lost.
Wednesday fished the open at Wood lane Iver. Feeder only on this one, ( it's an out and out pellet wag venue) got battered. £20 lost.
Paid for my new pole yesterday £???? Wallet got battered.
Club match tomorrow on the GUC (Tring anglers) pools £5 so not much chance of recouping much.
Probably get battered again...And it's going to rain all day..
But I love it and my mind is a lot richer with what I have picked up in knowledge over the week.

URACS have booked a little match on the Wey Navigation for later this year. That's another chance for you to get battered....

Better to have been battered than not get out at all.

Not quite so battered today, 14 braved the elements on the GUC.
Got off to a promising start on the pole and bread punch catching netter roach but after about 6 they switched off. For the last 5 hours it was gudgeon a chuck. It rained and snowed for a few hours and got very cold and a few packed up and went home. I weighed in 3lb 1oz. Winner had 10lb.
Happy days.....

I haven't won a match since my match fishing season started in April. Been regularly finishing in the top 6 though.

Can honestly say I've never drawn well once.

That's fishing, just persevere with it.

Good luck mate.

It's about the taking part that matters, not the winning.
Keep at it and one day victory will be yours.

I managed to win the Tring Marsworth ressie charity open match in may this year (10 bream for 43lb) and trousered £90. My last win on this annual 6 match series was April 2009.
Going again Sunday for the July open. I'll let you know if I get battered .....

I fished with Bracknell at wood lane a few weeks ago and drew next to the rope holding the aireator. The carp were all over the top of the lake. I used a medium method feeder with A bag Em bight pellet banded to a PR38 size 14 and caught carp one every 10 seconds on the feeder. Did stop four hours in to the match and went out onto the pellet wag but never got the same catch rate. Won the match with 115lb. I have to disagree with you saying its a pellet wag water only.

Fair comment Ian. Were you on the match lake or the back lake?
