I believe that, at last, "The Industry" - fishing tackle and clothing brands, the fishy filmmakers (but probably not the Destination Angling Travel 'boys' - they will be the last to accept the following) - is beginning to twig onto what I experienced 30 years ago (here, not merely in India) and included as a major theme in a book that was published twenty years ago next year, Somewhere Down The Crazy River: namely, that for all our hunger for fish swimming in wild, "unexplored" places (and, over the past couple of decades, the fame and profit that catching and snapping them can bring), those wild unexplored places are still some people's "backyards" - their homes, places not to be bought up, staked out, priced up and flogged ... just so many last frontiers to be conquered by a new, two-up-to-the-locals, fishy Imperialism / Colonialism...

My God, how stuff like the above has drawn me some flak over the past twenty years...
