Hi all
Do any of you know if the specialist pike fishery ajacent to Lechlade Trout Lake is still open.Fished it twice the first time was a L.A.S. fishin. The 2nd with a friend where we managed to get one of the boats that were for hire.I believe both the trout and pike lakes were sponsored by Masterline.

Andy

P.S. Not to be confused with the Milestone fishery just up the road.

The only one I know of is Claydon Park in Lechlade, I passed it once in the car (off the A417)I don't know if that's the one you were thinking of. Try Dave Pugh's site at www.lurefishinguk.co.uk, where a lot of the LAS members are to be found, I'm sure someone would be able to brief you.

Cheers Gerry
I dont think that is the place i am thinking of.The Masterline pike fishery was almost bang opposite The Carp Societys Horseshoe Lake.It was managed by the trout fishery next door.
Anyway will try on a couple of other sites.

I fished this lake in jan of this year,it is right opposite the trout fishery where you get you get your ticket. It is ten pounds to fish.I caught a couple of jacks, but it was a bad day with the lake flooded and very cold water temps..

Chris it seems unfair that one area has such good pike fishing, but you are spoilt for choice your location. If you do fish the mariner, catch some lives and fish free roaming method..

Have mate. Got lured down there by tales of a 30 three or four years back.

It was a 40 by the time we tracked the owner down to the pub next door.

Funny little place. Caught loads, biggest was around 4lbs though.

Best bit was ending up in an argument with this mad woman off one of the boats after we ran one of her gnomes over.

Not really mate - great fun fishing the Fens but I don't think it's that much better.

Down there you've got the Thames and Severn, and all those gravel pits around Fairford, Cerney, Ashton Keynes etc.

Not too bad mr Bishop, Not getting out enough though. Have to admit that I'm having a 32 hr sesion after carp next weekend but will take the spinning rod along just in case. Fishing a private trout water with a good head of large carp, I know of 2 30lb Pike that were taken out as well, transfered to another lake. I have fished it for the pike and only managed a small Jack.
