Abu Suveran Sports 13ft 4-60z Beachcaster

I have been offered this rod for £50 and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. I've read a couple of reviews and they suggest it has poor bite detection but is good for heavier fish.

Despite having a stiff tip, does it cast well and would it suit for a general mixed ground rod?
