Why no mention of what species ?
Er....Ling right ?

James Isbister caught the 6ft-long ling while fishing off Muckle Flugga on Saturday.

Shoulda gone to Specsavers ;)

I`m more impressed with where he caught it. Wonderful name.

I misread it too and sat there thinking - why haven't they said what sort of fish it is , there must be a reason if 2 of us did the same thing.

nice fish looks tasty ! I mentioned it at work and my mate said there is a fish commonly mistaken for tuna that gives you explosive orange diarrehoa , so I make a point to read things properly from now on , except threads of course.

It is a member of the cod family and if you have eaten cod and chips from a fish and chip shop you have eaten plenty of it I do not know how much it sells for onthe fish market these days but it used to fetch a quarter the price of the real thing when we used to off load it on Brixham market on a good day.
