John Newman is an unknown quantity at this point
Question Felixstowe

Me and my mate Wilson are going to give the old beach fishing a bash.
As Felixstowe is our nearest beach has anbody any suggestions, ie best bit to head for best bait etc.
late Sept/early Oct is when we plan on going.
Does the rule 2 hours either side of high tide still hold true?

Hi John, I would fish it as you say around high tide. I would go to the Languard Fort end of the beach nearer the docks nut I have also caught whiting and codling off the beach at the 'Dip' which is down towards Old Felixstowe just before you get to the golf course, to be honest, there are fish to be caught all along the beach. For bait, then squid or strips of mackerel for the whiting and lugworm for the codling. There are lots of small whiting about now but few sizeable ones and they all seem very thin to me.

Hope you caught some if you have been already!
