Maybe it means they have been hiding in the weed.
I've got mates who get weeded up (not the same). :wh

One of the factors for carp dying was high temperatures?? Rubbish. The mean temperature this summer is probably down on the norm and most certainly, down on what it might be in France, Holland, Russia etc., countries where carp thrive.

Now, if the officer said that that the deaths were due to overstocking, indiscriminate stocking, or ill thought out stocking, we might believe him. But an officer employed by the Carp Society will never say that, will he?

Excess of a 1,000 fish, no bloody wonder, when theres fish deaths, why is it always carp?.

all sorts of rumours flying around about the numbers of fish that have died, i read that it could be up to 500 but who knows, what seems to be true is that day tickets were still being sold after the initial fish kill which doesnt seem to be the right thing to do unless the CS are just interested in the money.
