Hhhhmmmmn.

Normally I am very happy to see these sort of projects, but in the text here there are a few word-nuggets that give me a cold feeling; maybe I've been reading too many of TBO's posts, who knows, but phrases like this, (my emphasis):

"This project will create a more natural river channel, to help reduce the potential for flooding in the area, and to enhance access and enjoyment of the Blackwater Valley for the local residents"

Well, they usually mean that this is politic-speke that when translated in to good old Anglo Saxon actually means:

Well, we are going to straighten the blooming river to get rid of surface water quicker . . . . . . and protect a few expensive houses in the process

I will be very happy to be proven wrong on this . . . . . . .
