Spining Rod

Hey Guys

I'm off to the Emerald Isle in a coup[le of weeks and I was fancying trying my hand at a spot of Bass fishing off the Rocks as the cottage where we are staying seems well placed for a couple of good marks.

As this will be my first venture into sea spinning I was wondering is it worth buying a rod and reel here or does the price / exchange rate make buying in Ireland more attractive?

Also as my home in the UK is some miles from a shore I wondered if you could suggest a rod/reel that could be used for this trip and kept as a stanby for doing a bit of spinning in my local rivers and lakes?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
