What breaking strain flurocarbon for fishing on canals using the drop shot method?
I have 10lb and 8lb drennan esox fluro allready in my tackle box will that be to over gunned should I buy a lighter fluro.

Suggests you are predator fishing from the line titles, i wouldnt use flouro for that purpose, uneccessary and problematic.

Canals are virtually all occupied by pike and so imo you should use wire. Fluro will deffo break off against a pikes teeth leaving the poor old esox with a lure hanging in it's mouth.
If there was deffo no pike present then you could go to about 3lb. Perch arn't the hardest of fighters so 3lb would be easily strong enough and would be less visible, and maybe get you more takes.

Im using fox rge torque 10lb braid for my mainline and the fluro is for the hook and wieght at the business end
