Angling holidays are big business during the spring months ofApril, May and June, as coarse, sea and game fishermen from acrossthe UK and Europe invade the quiet fish-filled waters.

Bagging up in Ireland

The Republic of Ireland’s precautions against foot-and-mouth hasso far been successful but restrictions will remain in place, including access to farmland where there are animals.

And from personal experience, I suggest that fishing baits such asmaggots, casters and worms be ordered from Irish-based bait companiesfor delivery to your holiday centre in Ireland.

The Department of Agriculture is being vigilant and questioningevery arriving by ferry and it could be that live bait could bebanned – or sprayed with disinfectant!
