Despite having a large portfolio of brands and numerous key products Zebco Europe’s Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Frerk Petersen, believes that the most exciting product launch of 2012 is the Zebco Vacuum System.

Frerk explained:

“At first glance it appears to have only limited significance when it comes to fishing but if you look closer you find that it has a huge range of applications that give it a high relevance for our hobby. It goes far beyond just freezing fish which should be its most obvious purpose.”

Among the uses already identified are:

• Boilie storage

• Preserving maggots and casters

• Freezing deadbaits

• Keeping documents dry

• Protecting electronic equipment

In collaboration with Spanish manufacturer Cofresco, Zebco has gained exclusive rights to introduce the bags to the angling market and the range comprises three differently-sized zip-lock bags that can be ‘vacuumed’ to exclude air in a similar way to the vacuum stoppers long sold to the wine market.

The vacuum pumpThe air is extracted without the need of special equipment – it is fitted with a patented valve to which a hand pump is attached. Once the bag is filled, the air is removed by a few pulls of the pump. The bag is re-useable and is suitable for freezing fish as well as keeping boilies fresh for significantly longer without freezing. Air exclusion also opens up many different storage possibilities for anglers at home and those travelling and particles such as hemp and tigers are perfectly suited to the technique, keeping them fresher for longer on long sessions.

The bags will be available three sizes: 1L (19.5cm x 22cm), 3L (30cm x 35cm) and 6L (22cm x 65cm).
