The winning two-person team will travel to the magnificent 1,100 acre Lac de Madine, France in late August to compete against 130 teams comprising of the best catch-and-release anglers in the world. Madine is well known for holding huge carp over 70lbs and many in the 30 – 60lbs range.  JRC are the title Sponsors of the long-established World Carp Classic which is well known for high-intensity competition over 5 nights and 6 days and high-stakes purses which over the years add up to over $700,000.

At Lake Hominy, the April 13-18 contest is 118-continuous-hours of fishing and has become a favorite among American carp anglers.  The 165-acre fresh-water reservoir located in northeast Oklahoma is noted as a prolific carp fishery with tricky craggy out-crops and inlets comprising the lakes terrain which provides near-perfect conditions for pro-level competition.

‘We’re looking forward to returning to Hominy for the CARP Tournament Series South Central Regionals,’ says tournament director David Moore.  ‘Lake Hominy has always tested the best of our circuit anglers since we started bringing tournaments here in 2004.  There is no doubt we can expect to see some nice common carp in the high 20-to-30 pound range over the six days.’

‘Making this year even more exciting is the newly formed alliance with the World Carp Classic,’ Moore adds.  ‘This sanction affords Hominy the distinction of being recognized as a world-class venue, and we’re honoured to be selected.’

Adding a team entry to the World Carp Classic sweetens the prize pool of cash and tackle for the ten teams expected at Lake Hominy. The winners will represent the USA. To represent your country at any sport is something very special and something that very few people ever achieve. This will be no exception.

‘World Carp Classic is delighted to establish this partnership with CARP Tournament Series,’ remarks Ross Honey founder and producer of the UK-based World Carp Classic.  ‘It is certainly our pleasure to announce the American site – the CARPTS South Central Regionals at Lake Hominy – will be the inaugural qualifier – the first in the world – for our global competition in France later this year.’

Among the sponsors for the CARPTS South Central Regionals are Reuben Heaton scales, Fox International, EconoLodge, Big Carp Tackle, Enterprise Rent-a-Car and the St. Lawrence Experience
