The hook has a bonded Teflon coating (which I first saw on hooks about 15 years ago) which is supposed to aid penetration and increase hook point durability, something which the original Raptors are infamous for.
The grey Teflon also gives the hook a dull matt finish, which should help to disguise it in clear water.
The 12 degree in-turn of the eye gives a good natural line aligner with the knotless knot without being too severe. The initial basic palm test show good promise.
The hook point is sharp, but not as sharp as the originals and not anywhere near as good as the Nash Gata, something to bear in mind if you are after delicately feeding fish that would require an ultra sharp hook.
Their strength is comparable with the original T6’s and they straightened out, not snapped, with a direct pull from 25lb mono.
In summary, on first impressions they are a good hook, not an exceptional hook, but I shall use them in the near future and see how they perform in the real world.
