Leeda Giant Sub Zero Underwear

LEEDA GIANT SUB ZERO UNDERWEAR - FACTOR TWO
Price: VEST £40.00 LONG JOHNS £35.00

It's only around the corner now, and with the UK's topsy-turvy weather of late who knows how cold it's going to be this winter?

Anglers probably feel the cold more than most other outdoors people, for the reason that most of us are sat for long periods with very little movement to keep the circulation going. In really severe winter conditions of ice and snow, or even those cutting winds, you have to be kitted out properly or you're asking for trouble.

Is Giant underwear the answer? Depends how big you are. But don't worry, three sizes of Sub Zero underwear are sold by Giant. There are two types in the range, factor one and factor two. The factor two are the subject of this review and they are probably amongst the warmest undergarments you can buy.

TECH SPEC

  • manufactured from Tactel fabric by Dupont
  • 20% lighter than polyester
  • softer than polyester
  • fits snugly by stretching to the body's shape
  • transports sweat away from the skin to the outer layer of the fabric
  • very hard wearing
  • easy to wash and quick to dry
  • naturally antibacterial
  • Khaki colour
  • weighs 210g/m2, TOG value of 0.7
  • double sided fabric; inner layer wicks moisture to outer layer where it is dissipated
  • a hydrophilic (water loving) finish on the fibres produces a garment which is quick-wicking

Zip Turtleneck Vest
The vest has an average weight 295g. It has flat stretch seams for greater comfort, generous body length to avoid lower back exposure, set in arm seams to maximise insulation and wicking, and the stand-up turtleneck features an 18cm long zip.

Available in medium, large and extra large sizes.

Long Johns
Have an average weight of 255g with a double front panel for added protection from cold, an elasticated waist.

Available in medium, large and extra large sizes.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT
I wore these all last winter on the coldest days and they are without doubt the warmest underclothes I've ever had.

In fact, whenever it's possible you should put them on when you arrive at the water and take them off when you leave the water, for they will be much too warm to wear in a heated car or anywhere else that isn't very cold.

If you want the very best and warmest winter underclothes then these are probably it - I don't know of any that are better.
