Seymo Tear Drop Bait Droppers

SEYMO TEAR DROP BAIT DROPPERS
THREE SIZES: SMALL , MEDIUM AND LARGE
Price: Small (2oz) £6.00, Medium (4oz) £7.00, Large (8oz) £8.00

Probably more so than any other species, barbel, especially where they are found in large numbers, can get through some feed in a session, with several pints of hemp, caster and maggot being seen off with no problem at all.

Lots of this feed is introduced via a swimfeeder, but at the start of a session it pays to give them a good helping to trigger them into feeding. And there is no better way of doing this than by way of a baitdropper.

When fishing for big barbel, when far fewer, but bigger, fish are expected, it is often a good idea to prebait a few swims before fishing, and again the baitdropper is the ideal tool to use.

These teardrop shaped droppers from Seymo are offered in three sizes to suit the size of baiting job you're undertaking, and the size of bait you're dropping.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

A well made, tough baitdropper and you can choose the right size for the job. Even when empty they have sufficient weight to get down to the bottom quickly and they open every time.

I bought the large and medium models for the opening week of the season and used them on my first 4 trips.

Fishing deep and fast flowing rivers like the Avon I have always preferred to use a baitdropper to "kick start" my swim and for regular top-ups during the session.

The only problem I found on the first trip was that, when full, they do weigh an awful lot.
In fact a little too much for the rods I was using to trot caster after Chub.
Not a real problem though as the next day I used the dropper on a Carp rod of 21/2lb t/c and they performed admirably.

A word of warning though, the large model does take a lot of bait, so take plenty and be prepared.

Seymo do seem to design some very good items and at reasonable prices.
