We say
Anglers have moved into digital photography as much as, if not more than, most other sportsmen. And why not, we all like to have trophy shots of our best fish and there is always plenty to see and photograph around us.
Digital cameras have made it so much easier, going hand in hand with computers and the internet. And, unlike film cameras, and the processing costs that go with them, they've also made it so that we can blast off endless shots and not have to worry about running out of film.
The downside of course is that they all get downloaded to the hard drive of the PC and then we have to sort them out and find the shots we want.
This is where programmes like Adobe Photoshop Album come in really useful, for they help us to organise the shots we take. But Adobe Photoshop Album is much more than an image organiser, it is also a creative tool and image editor.
Adobe Photoshop Album was introduced last year. It was a decent enough programme then, but it's much better now in version 2, being faster and easier to use.
What it does is collect all the images and video clips it can find on your hard drive and organise them in chronological order. It allows you to sort them in all kinds of ways and tracks them automatically so that you can find something with a simple keyword.
Editing functions include sharpen, red-eye, auto level, auto colour and auto contrast with a single click. Other, more sophisticated editing functions are there too for the more experienced photo editor. Although not in the same street as its big brother Photoshop, it's an excellent editing tool considering it costs just a fraction of the price.
Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 also gives you plenty of options for sharing your images via an e-card, mobile phone, Palm OS, greeting card, calendar web gallery, etc.
It also has a built-in back-up facility so that in the event of a computer crash you don't lose your precious shots.
