See a demo on fly tying at the FISHINGmagic Flyfishing Fish-in
|
The FISHINGmagic Flyfishing Fish-in organised by Ron Clay is this Saturday, 3rd April at Press Manor Fisheries in the Derbyshire Peak District. Details can be found here.
Ron, a qualified fly casting instructor, will be giving casting instructions and now we have a skilled fly tying instructor and demonstrator, Andy Wright, coming along to demonstrate how to tie a fly.
Andy Wright is a member of, and will be representing the Congleton, Cheshire branch of the Fly Dressers Guild (www.the-fdg.org) and regularly gives fly tying demonstrations at various functions in the UK.
Andy will do a fly tying demo at the fish-in, but rather than the usual fancy patterns that they tend to do on these demos he will be covering basic tying techniques to show that it is relatively easy (with a minimum of tools & materials) to tie a pattern that will catch fish.
He will give anyone the opportunity to tie their first fly and then take it down to the water and try to catch a fish on it.
