The Carp and Coarse Show 2006

The Carp & Coarse Show 2006, Wembley, London

Carp Conferences are hosting The Carp & Coarse Show 2006, with the full support of the publishers of Crafty Carper, Carpworld, International Carper, Carp -Trade, Carp-Talk, Pike & Predators and Coarse Angling Today. The decision to move the successful Carp Show, resident at the Five Lakes Country Club for the past five years, to Wembley, is proving to be the right one, as exhibitors, keen to capitalise on this wonderful opportunity, continue to book the remaining stands to showcase and retail their products. Although there has been some initial confusion with the introduction of a new show to Five Lakes, hosted by another party, dedicated followers of the Spring Carp Show are looking forward to being part of the new look show in the capital.

With less than two months to go until The Carp & Coarse Show at Wembley, Carp Conferences have announced a spectacular line-up of entertainments scheduled for the weekend of April 1st and 2nd promising an exciting and entertaining weekend for all. There will be talks and demonstrations dedicated to both the carp and coarse sectors, with the popular Rig Clinic and Bait Kitchen demos being professionally managed to ensure that everyone takes away valuable tips and information from the best in the sport. In addition to this the show will have a 14 metre indoor lake, Bivvy Alley, the Coarse Theatre, the Carp Theatre, Coarse Demos and Pole Alley. A full schedule of events can be viewed at www.anglingpublications.co.uk. Free Car Parking - which normally costs £8.00 a day - will be available for all visitors.

Here are just some of the names who will be present at the show, with the list continuing to grow as the buzz surrounding the event continues to gather momentum:

Terry Hearn, Nick Helleur, Keith Arthur, Steve Renyard, Julian Cundiff, Ian Chillcott, Ian Poole, Dr Paul Garner, Colin Davidson, Simon Scott, Frank Warwick, Martin Bowler, Jan Porter, Lee Jackson, Simon Bater, Martin Locke, Kev Clifford, Tim Paisley, Martin Ford, Roman Buczynski, Steve Briggs, Simon Crow, Chris Ball, Mark Hutchinson, Tim Wagner, Nev Fickling, Nige Williams, Trefor West, Fred Crouch, Steve Pope, Danny Fairbrass, Ali Hamidi, Damien Clarke, Chris Rose, Steve Spurgeon, Keith Jones, Alex Perrin, Ellis Brazier, Mick Perry, Martin Skoyles, Mike Kavanagh, Mark Barrett, James Holgate, Grahame King (all the names listed have been confirmed)

What else is happening at the show?

Be one of the first to snap up the limited places for the 2006 'British Young Carp Anglers Championship' held on the Linear Fisheries complex in August. Registration for the event opens at the show and it will be the first opportunity to sign up for the competition, be there or risk missing out on a place at this prestigious event

The Carp Anglers of the Year Awards 2005 will be taking place on Saturday on the Carp Stage at 12.15pm. With four different categories being awarded, this promises to be an exciting, prestigious ceremony.

There will be an exclusive opportunity to register for the hottest European event in 2006, the World Carp Classic at Lac Forest d' Orient, being held in September 2006. The first prize will be an amazing £10,000. Enter your team at the show and save £100 from the entry cost. Visit stand No.199 for this fantastic opportunity, only available at The Carp & Coarse Show.

Test your skills at the bait boat racing being held on the indoor lake in Hall 1. Racing will take place each day; go on, give it a go; you could win a great prize, and brush up on your boating skills.

See the latest in must-haves in the world of angling fashion, the fashion show will take place on both days, along with a charity auction hosted by a top celebrity angler, and there will also be vintage tackle valuations by Phil Waller. Phil Waller has been collecting vintage tackle for over 20 years and has run an antique tackle road-show since 1989 called 'Fishing Tackle of Yesteryear'. As author of three books on the subject, Phil is well qualified to give advice and valuations and will also be signing copies of his book, 'Fishing Reels, Collecting For All' at the show. Phil, will be happy to give advice on the cleaning and restoration of old reels and will also be exhibiting some fascinating examples of cased fish, old and unusual angling items, photos and pictures. So bring along your vintage tackle and you may get a pleasant surprise!

One of the artists of the angling world, Mike Carlon, illustrator of the renowned Syndicate series will be resident at the show. This is the first time that Mike has bestowed his artistic talents upon an angling event, and we are thrilled to have him on board. Mike will be available all day to produce the highest quality caricatures of you and your prize catch. Whatever your passion, carp, barbel or pike, Mike will capture the humour and produce a truly individual piece of humorous art. Drawings will be available in colour or black and white. This is an opportunity not to be missed; you will find Mike at the show, adjacent to the Rig Clinic.

You can also come and meet Sky Sports personality Keith Arthur on the Korda stand.

Meet the teams behind Dynamite Baits, Korda, Richworth, Trakker, Wychwood, Solar, Armaled, The Barbel Society, The Pike Angler's Club of Great Britain, Catfish Pro, and more.
