Caught in freezing fog at around 1.30 am, the fish fell to fishmeal boilies and was in perfect condition when landed on the 'Oak Tree' swim.
Matt won 650 €uros - 150€ for breaking the lake record, and 500€ off his next fishing holiday on either Chapel Lake or it's sister lake - Les Justices.

On 15th April the owner, Bob Williams, 'upped' the challenge by stocking a truly amazing fish in the shape of a 64lb 6oz gorgeous mirror carp. This fish, only 12 years old, is over 45 inches long and about a foot across the back. It's carrying no spawn or gut and could easily go to 70+lb soon!
To complete the hectic few days, on 22nd April angler Richard Price moved into 'The Hollies' swim and early Sunday morning broke the lake record again - this time with an unknown mirror of 60lb 2oz! He also picked up a 650 €uro prize. What a start - and this is only week 4!
