'Big Lyn' at 33lb

Big Lyn caught at 33lb

Having nailed a number of upper twenties from Temple in the past month, regular Sean Howard hit the jackpot over the weekend catching “Big Lyn” at an impressive 33lb.

Sean fished his favoured two pieces of pop up corn 2" off the bottom (glugged with a secret flavouring) over a PVA bag filled with hemp.

Fishing swim 3, Sean saw a fish roll in the area before setting up and caught within 20 minutes of casting 5ft from the island reeds. Sean commented what many already know, “cracking looking fish,” in fact one of the prettiest fish in Temple Lake.

Sean's previous Temple outing resulting in a 26lb 8oz and 23lb 2oz common and a 25lb 6oz mirror, which also fell to pop up corn over pellet fished to the island from peg 12.

The story behind “big Lyn” was that she was stocked from the King George back in 2004 weighing 34lb 3oz, she then plummeted to under 25lb and it looked like she would not survive. However over the past year or so she has made a great recovery and is now looking incredibly fit at 33lb.

Drag any negative you like out of the report but it sure looks like those Temple Lake carp are in superb condition.

Testament to both the lake owners and the carp anglers who fish there.
