SBS Nitro Method Mix

**Real Reviews by Real Anglers**

This is a chunky method groundbait mix, and by that I mean it's made for big fish, for there are some chunks of food in it, including whole seeds and pieces of cereal. Of course there is lots of finely ground feed too. But make no mistake, this is a big fish mix and so far I've caught carp over 20lb, bream to double figures, barbel to over 8lb and chub over 4lb while using it.

The mix contains cooked, crushed and ground cereals, whole and crushed seeds, cornsteep meal and pellets, low temperature fishmeals, water soluble milk proteins, Betaine HCI and other fish attracting ingredients.

You can add cornsteep liquor, molasses, SBS Tonic and other additives to the water you use to make the mix to give it extra pulling power, but the mix as it comes with just plain water is probably all you need. Although I add SBS corn steep liquor pellets to mine and SBS recommend using SBS cornsteep liquor, Attractamino-Attractamino PPC or the Tonic at the rate of 30% to 20% water. But add whatever you like, I suppose we all like to give our baits our own label.

It has a strong, attractive smell and mixes into a really hard, sticky consistency that clings to the method feeder like the proverbial to a blanket. There is no way you can cast it off the feeder if you mix it to stay on, even over great distances. It is easy to vary this consistency if you wish to make it break up more easily or stay put on the feeder for longer periods.

The mix has a good action when in the water, fizzing and working, spewing tiny particles into the surrounding area. Fish love it, of that there is no doubt, for when you throw some in the margins the smaller fish are onto it like a shot, and stay on it till it's all gone. It is best to mix it regularly to get the best action from the groundbait balls.

This hard, sticky mix is excellent for river groundbaiting too, especially in fast water where the groundbait balls have to get down to the bottom quickly, and then stay there until they break up. I've caught barbel and chub while using it, and now that groundbaiting for barbel is the current vogue this SBS Nitro Method Mix could have been made for the purpose.

Try some and see for yourself. I think you'll be convinced it is an excellent mix for the Method style of fishing and groundbaiting in rivers.

What do you think of using The Method for big carp? Or is it just a good tactic for the smaller ones?
