Big Chub – Adrian Nets Another
Adrian Eves has enjoyed some marvellous chub fishing this winter and his success continues with yet another 6lb plus fish.
This time Adrian has been concentrating his efforts on the Burghfield section of Kennet and his feeder tactics accounted for a nice trio of fish.
Adrian said:
"I took this 6lb 10oz chub from the CEMEX section of the River Kennet at Burghfield and it was part of a three fish catch, which also included fish of 5lb 8oz and 4lb 12oz.
They all came on a rotary-end maggot feeder with a 6lb Fox fluorocarbon hooklink and a size 14 Series 2 hook. The rotary-end feeder meant that I could vary the rate of feed by opening or closing the ends, which can be really important. All three of the fish came around dusk and the biggest is my fifth over 6lb of the winter, with four of them over 6lb 8oz."
