Highly accomplished angler Régis had spent most of the past month spinning for both bass and black bass but getting back after catfish saw him land and a true monster and a record for the southern French river when his deadbait, presented on a buoy rig, was picked up by this beast.

The fish took 45 minutes to beat on a Black Cat Buster Rod and Size 80 Fin Nor Sportfisher Reel; it was measured at 2.50m in length and weighed in at 100kg.

This is a dedicated thread for discussing article: Catfish – Petit Rhone Monster Landed The Petitte Rhone is really just an arm of the Rhone Delta which is where the Camargue Wetland joins the Med. It is much less formidable than the mighty main river. It is also full of hard fighting wild carp. There is a large canal that joins it at St.Gilles which has good fish stocks. In fact the whole area is one huge carp and cat swim. Most other species of course are there also. There are many campsites in the area. JUST TAKE PLENTY OF INSECT REPELANT.
