Nash Tackle’s Alan Blair sets a new PB with a huge roach.
Continuing his quest for a big roach Alan targeted an Essex syndicate lake for a short evening session and employed simple waggler tactics with a 2.5lb hook length to 3lb main line and a size 18 hook baited with Scopex no.1 flavoured double maggots.
Alan also sprayed maggot throughout the session and introduced a small amount of hemp based groundbait to tempt the stunning fish pictured, which pulled the scales around to a new PB weight of 2lb 13oz.
Alan said, “I’m now dreaming of a roach that will top the magical 3lb barrier!” and FishingMagic certainly wish him well in that quest.
