Sea Fishing - Marine Planning Drop-In Days

Do you know what marine planning is and what it might mean for your sea angling?

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is holding 12 public sessions in February along the East coast of England to explain what marine planning is, and what it means to coastal communities.

The Angling Trust is encouraging all our sea angling members and clubs in the east of England to drop in to one of these sessions to find out more about what marine planning may mean to you and to make sure your views are heard.

The sessions run between the 13 to 23 February 2012 from 11am to 3 pm and 5pm to 8pm, with the exception of the evening session on the 15 February in Wells-Next-The-Sea in Norfolk which runs from 6pm to 8pm.

The marine plans for the East Inshore and East Offshore areas, which are expected to be finalised in 2013, will inform and guide marine regulators and users across England, enabling the sustainable development of marine industries, such as wind farms, fishing and oil and gas exploration, while considering the need to conserve and protect marine species and habitats.
