Fishing TV Goes National

Fishing TV is taking angling back into the national newspaper arena through a joint venture with The Independent.

Four free-to-view video magazines – Carp Channel Monthly, Game Fisher’s Diary, Coarse & Match Fishing Monthly and Sea Watch Monthly – are now appearing on The Independent’s website’s Sports section, in association with a weekly blog written by head of channel Gareth Purnell covering what’s going on in the sport.

Gareth commented:

“There aren’t many national newspapers that have any significant angling coverage any more so I’m delighted to have the Independent on board as one of our syndication partners.

The national newspaper websites reach huge numbers of people compared to the angling media, and certainly to a different audience as well. The Sports section of The Independent’s website has over 180,000 page views every day.”

Fishing TV’s video magazines publish around three hours of new video content in each issue, and are updated with new material every month.  They are already syndicated out to over 30 websites, including FishingMagic, and are showing very strong growth and delivering over 300,000 video views a month.

The video magazines can be viewed online, on iphones and ipads and soon on Samsung and Panasonic Smart TVs.
