Slow Melt Micromesh is generally accepted to be the strongest, most versatile and effective PVA mesh on the market today.

Its very clever construction enables the angler to use it with all manner of baits, from pellets to ground-baits and even including maggots. This mesh, which is made from slightly thicker material than usual, is extremely versatile in all angling situations. It is especially effective when fishing in extreme situations such as in very deep gravel pits or in very warm conditions where water temperatures exceed 14°C. In these situations, you need to be sure that the bait reaches the bottom before dispersing. The angler also has the advantage of being able to make up mesh bags in advance for their session. This mesh is our Best Seller due to its versatility. It is completely anti-ladder and capable of withstanding casts of extreme force. It is available in 3 widths; 36mm (Standard), 26mm (Boilie) and 15mm (Skinny). Our Slow Melt Micromesh has an approximate breakdown time of between 1-2 minutes, although this varies depending on several factors including water temperature.

100901scrmesh_418211330.jpgOur Hex mesh provides another option for those preferring to use a Fast Melt type mesh. It has a slightly larger hole size which enables the water to penetrate quicker than our Micromesh products, thus allowing flavours to disperse more quickly. It is the perfect mesh for use with pellets; it too is completely anti-ladder and can withstand casts of extreme force. This particular Hex Mesh is the only one available with a 2.7mm hole; others available on the market today tend to be between 3mm and 4mm. As with our Micro Meshes, our Hex Mesh is available in 3 widths; 36mm (Standard), 26mm (Boilie) and 15mm (Skinny). It has an approximate breakdown time between 30-45 seconds, although this too varies depending on several factors including water temperature.

Micromesh is a Faster Melting PVA, using the same revolutionary design construction as our Slow Melt product, but using thinner material for those who prefer the ‘instant breakdown’ effect. This is particularly suitable for those people fishing areas of more normal depth. It is also ideal for those who wish to add extra attractants to their bags by ‘glugging’ them in oils or flavours (note: ‘glugging’ can decrease breakdown time over and above times recorded for untreated mesh). The Fast Melt mesh is most efficient in extreme cold water temperatures making it the ideal choice for winter sessions. We recommend this mesh for water temperatures below 8°C.  As with our Slow Melt range, our Fast Melt PVA mesh is ladder resistant and capable of withstanding casts of extreme force. It too is available in 3 widths; 36mm (Standard), 26mm (Boilie) and 15mm (Skinny). Our Fast Melt Micromesh has an approximate breakdown time of between 30-45 seconds, although this varies depending on several factors including water temperature. water temperature.

My super strong solid style PVA bags have been in development for well over 1 year. I have sourced the finest grade of English PVA and designed the best PVA bags on the market today with no bottom seal which reduces splitting. The end product is a top grade bag that melts quickly and leaves no residue.

I have to admit that much of what I have bought in the past of PVA products has been pretty good, but with the mesh, it has laddered and split and tangled, thus causing much frustration.

With Samantha’s PVA mesh this does not happen. I have made up quite a few bags with it so far and never had one incident that caused a single expletive. PVA has come on in great leaps since it started being used by anglers and for different types of baits including groundbait and stick mixes and whole boilies to seeds even. It’s no longer a case of one type does it all, you need a full armoury of the stuff, all good news for the PVA seller, of course.

Samantha’s come in three sizes, 15mm, 26mm, and 36mm diameters and each in slow melt, hex mesh (fairly fast) and fast melt with a fine mesh. These must cover just about every application you can think of for mesh PVA.

Using the standard hex mesh through the summer I found their timings on meltdown pretty spot on, it has been warm and testing it where I could see it, a bag would melt in roughly 25-35 seconds depending on what was in it, e.g.: if an oily mixture such as with tuna, then this would slow it down slightly as the oils would retard the melting process. I was certainly very happy with the results and confident that it delivered my free offerings where I wanted them and without much of a wait.

100901scrtape_665976557.jpgWith the bags, I have simply filled these with pellets of mixed sizes and attached them straight to the hook, this was during barbel fishing on the river so not wanting to waste any, they all went straight to the mark I wanted to fish. No hook came back with any PVA sludge attached so all I can imagine is that they did their job as they should.

Samantha also sent me some tape, but other than trying it in a bucket, and it did dissolve as expected, I haven’t used in for any real fishing. However, don’t think that PVA products are uniquely for catching carp and the odd river fish, I have some ideas for using the tape in pike fishing during the coming winter months.

You’ll have to visit her website for fuller information on these and other products, but just let me point you to the prices, e.g.: £8.50 for 10 metres on a dispenser, that’s very competitive and just look at the bargain prices for bulk amounts! I’m giving this one a thumbs up because I really do like it and I like to see the little man (or lady in this case) breaking into the BIG marketplace. Well done Sam, keep the ideas coming.
