| 'IT NOT WORTH BUYING IT. ' | | Strengths: very sensitive, chanageable bobbins, it is simple to use, and the auto switch is brillant | | Weaknesses: It is not supplied with a battery when buying it. Not loud enough even on windy days this could results deep hooking. Don't overtighten the line clip otherwise it will break. Battery spring clip is more likely to break when replacing a new battery The bobbin is not bright enough in the dark weather. | | Overall: There are not many Pike Drop Off alarms on the market now but this one is not cheap. I see there is a lot of fault in this model. In my view it is not worth buying unless you really need it. |

| 'VERY GOOD' | | Strengths: Good bright head Loud enough to hear Very good for registering forward and back drops well made
| | Weaknesses: None really, maybe a little over priced | | Overall: Very good alarms, well made, I have used them in very heavy rain and they work again and again, I have had them for 4 years and never had a problem with them. I have found that on rare occasions when the pike does not move towards me very far the arm does not drop enough to cause the mecury switch to sound the alarm, but I use fox SXV front alarms anyway so I dont have a problem with this, as these detect any movement of the line anyway so I normally have the rod in my hand before the line would have dropped anyway. |
