'SO FAR SO GOOD'
Strengths:
Good selection of sections and tips, makes a very versatile rod

[Update 07/01/08] Good selection of sections and 4 tips, makes a very versatile rod

Weaknesses:
none found although my hook keeper disappeared(fell off)No probs. with reel seat or handle.

[Update 07/01/08] none found although my hook keeper disappeared(fell off)No probs. with reel seat or handle.

Overall:
The 1.25 section held an 11lb wildy under the tip with no problem.
I accidently snapped a section and sent it to Fox,they replaced foc,no questions asked.
Suggest Stewart, you contact Fox with your problems, sounds like a duff model!

[Update 07/01/08]
Update:I broke my 2oz tip,replacement £13.60,carriage £6!!!!!Forget it.

'I LIKE IT'
Strengths:
Very versatile with a lot of options.
Weaknesses:
I broke the 3oz quiver tip (a freak accident and not a fault with the rod) and despite that I'd had the rod for only a very short time Fox were less than sympathetic to my plight and failed to provide me with a replacement. For the prices that Fox charge I wouldn't have thought this would have been a problem for them as other companies offer their customers this kind of after sales service.
Overall:
Early days yet as I haven't had it that long but it seems to handle really well. I've stopped a couple of decent sized barbel with it with no difficulties and it feels well balanced with my Shimano Super X.

'GREAT ALL-ROUND ROD & NOT ONLY FOR BARBEL.'
Strengths:
Beautiful finish and action. Excellent small to medium river rod but it would struggle with long-distance work. Coped easily with barbel to just under doubles and tench to almost eight lbs (straight avon version).
Weaknesses:
Not really good enough for long distance casting but I have experienced none of the problems mentioned above (I have a pair).
Overall:
One of the fining fish-playing rods around and very versatile,

'OK BUT NOT GREAT'
Strengths:
Good choice of sections to choose from.
Weaknesses:
Hate the hook keeper as its glued on not whipped. The reel seat is a nightmare keeps coming undone/lose when playing fish. Poor quality cork handles, full of filler which readly falls out.
Overall:
For the price the materials should have been better. The blank used is fine and very strong and has a medium compound taper style action.

Overall:
this rod is discounted £170.00.with the 11/4lbs top i have banked barbel to 11-2 from a fast snaggy back stream.19-4 carp from our club lake and loads of small stuff on the 2 oz tip.with the 13/4 top you can chuck a bag of pellets a good 60 yds what more do you want.
