'JUST THE JOB'
Strengths:
Comfortable. Easy on and off. Replaceable (and I believe washable) liners prolong useful life of boot. Warm.
Weaknesses:
None so far
Overall:
Very good indeed. I covered about two or three miles of river on Wednesday - it was just one of those days when I'd catch a couple of fish in a swim and then it would go dead (possibly my poor angling but anyway....). The important thing here is that I've owned boots in the past that you just wouldn't want to cover that much ground in as they were so uncomfortable to walk in. Ironically you'd then go home early cos your feet were cold!! Not so the Field boots. Every time a move was required, I just got on with it, catching loads more as a result. As has been previously stated, the laces and eyes on the front are nice and big which presents no problem for cold hands. They're easy to get in to and (more importantly when you're knackered at the end of the day) they're dead easy to get out of. Shop around - i got mine for £50, but there's probably better bargains to be had in January.

'KEEP THOSE TOOTSIES WARM THIS WINTER'
Strengths:
There are several design features of these boots which make them appealing to many of the specialist boys, lets start with the sole, a soft rubber which offers excellent grip, easy to walk in and very comfortable, the sole is joined to the foot of the boot which is again totally water proof upto the ankle, here the material changes and although still fairly water resistant it where the laces join that water can get in, its a kind of suede material, hard wearing but you wont go wading in these although the mid calf length does help prevent wind chill around the base of your leg, hence helping to keep the circulation of bloood flowing, thats what keeps your feet warm, now the best bit is the wool insert which is almost like a thick sock insert, this is reccomended to keep you feet warm in temperature below -35 degrees, the boots are lace ups, good strong laces with big eyes on the side of the boots to make tying easy with cold hands, for best results wear salopets or waterproof trousers over the top to stop any water getting onto the top section, you will then enjoy those cold wet and miserable day's or nights on the bank.
Weaknesses:
none so far
Overall:
If you like fishing throughout winter months then its a must to have the correct clothing, dont forget your feet, they are the furthest part of your body from your heart, and circulation is the key to staying warm, I wish I bought a pair years ago, very god value in today's footwear market.

'Skeetex Thermal field boots'
Strengths:
Warmth-Replaceable inner linings-Waterproof--Easy to walk in
Weaknesses:
I have yet to find any
Overall:
I bought these boots about 5 years ago and am still using them --I have replaced the inner lining once.
Unlike the usual'moon'boots these are really comfortable to walk in
Technical blurb from the manufacturer:
100% waterproof sealed base
98% waterproof top
warm to -50
Removable liners are made from sandwich thermal pile with aluminium heat reflecting foil
All I know is that whatever it is it certainly works
Definitely the best thermal boots I've had............

'GOOD FOR KEEPING OUT THE COLD.'
Strengths:
Wonderfully warm thanks to the thermal pile lining. Keeps out the frost to several degrees below zero. Waterproof around the foot. Fairly comfortable to walk in.
Weaknesses:
A bit heavy. Make you feel as if your feet don't belong to you sometimes.
Overall:
I wouldn't like to cover miles in them, but they are easily to walk in than the wellington type of boot. You do feel a little like Lurch or Frankenstein's monster at times, especially with the larger sizes. However, when that jack frost falls and you net sticks to the unhooking mat, you can be sure that your little piggies are as snug as a bug in a rug.
