'LOW BUDGET AND NOT FOR WHINGERS.'
Strengths:
Well made, durable, plain & simple. Good starter/commercial rod. Build quality exceeds and out performs more expensive branded products.
Weaknesses:
Action is a little low down in the butt section and the reel seat lets the build quality down. But for the price one would expect a lot less.
Overall:
I've kitted out my boys with the Badger combos at little over £100 each based on the Phantom and Shadow and upgraded with the 1060 reels. We fish a lot commercially and to date carp up to 26lb and a nice 19lb sturgeon have been no trouble. We're not novices and no, I do not have shares in the company. I am however, grateful that I can fully equip my lads with reliable gear within my budget. The youngest has that smug air of confidence that comes from sitting beside 3 matching Black Phantoms and it shows in his bag rate.
Thanks for that Badger.

'CHEAP HALF DECENT CARP ROD.'
Strengths:
2.5lb test curve reinforced eyes cheap as chips!
Weaknesses:
quite stiff and a bit heavy and chunky.
Overall:
As im still at school and dont have a job its a good rod for the price and it does its job i have had quite big fish on it and it has worked fine. Just a bit cheap and cheerful.

'BODGE BADGER I SAY'
Strengths:
no strengths at all in these rods, i'm suprised they havent snapped when i play my carp.
Weaknesses:
they just bend so much and seem so weak i'm scared of breaking them.
Overall:
they are quite good for £20 but i wouldnt advise anyone to buy them. i regret buying them but i'd only just started carp fishing and hadn't a clue about gear.

'CHEAP AND CHEERFUL'
Strengths:
i ve had alot of carp on them only up
to 16 lb very strong
Weaknesses:
too big and too heavy and scratch
very easely as well
Overall:
i used the 2.5 test curves when i first started but make sure u use a
deacent reel with a baitrunner
cause some of the bandger reels r crap, i would suggest shimano bait
runners
