| 'DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE BOX!' | | Strengths: Cost, simplicity, lightness, user serviceability (to an extent), Reuben Heaton assurance, used by John Wilson on TV. | | Weaknesses: Brittle scratch prone plastic used for body. A little less robust than I would have liked. | | Overall: This review is for the Reuben Heaton Flyweight Mk.2 Scales (Reuben Heaten are the manufacturers).
On my first outing with my scales they slipped out of my thigh pocket from seated height and fell onto wooden staging. The needle became partially detached rendering my scales inoperable. Upon disassembly at home I found a front push-fit bush had come astray, and merely needed refitting.
I would still have no hesitation in recommended these scales; just treat them with a little more respect than I did.

| 'EXCELLENT BUDGET SCALES' | | Strengths: small and slim, mine came with a nice pouch. I tested this on some small weights (1kg bag of sugar) and larger weights (dumb bells 5kg) and it was on the money every time. | | Weaknesses: May be liable to cracking of the outside if left under heavy weights in tackle bag. It probably won't be excepted for certification by weights and measures here in the republic so maybe not suitable if you wish to claim specimen badges from the Irish specimen fish committee. This is down to snobbery as far as I'm concerned. | | Overall: Would recommend it to anyone. |

| 'VERY GOOD BUDGET SCALES' | | Strengths: Great value very accurate Easily zeroed DOESN'T REQUIRE BATTERIES!!!!!!!! ;) Comes in great little pouch In built Handle Comes in nice little pouch | | Weaknesses: Quite plasticy- Doesn't feel very durable. | | Overall: Easily head ans shoulders above other scales in the same price range- and those above. Quite plasticy, but you get what you pay for. |

| 'BRILLIANT!' | | Strengths: Accurate, light, easy to read, easy to adjust, brilliant! | | Weaknesses: None. | | Overall: The only thing that could improve these is if they were free! Now I need a BIG fish to test them with! |
