Strengths: Distance of radio coverage. manouverability. accuracy. silent. Prevents casting into trees!
Weaknesses: Cost. Weight. Battery life.
Overall: Really good bit of kit, I'm sure the "anti-baitboat league" don't realise the full potential of these boats. It hasn't affected my skills, I still cast and feature find when I can but use the boat if snags are a danger.
Weaknesses: Short battery life. Particles and maggots can spill through gaps in hoppers.
Overall: I have been using my Microcat for 3 years now with no problems other than the depth sounder going out of calibration. Battery consumption is heavy and I have fitted mine with more powerful batteries 2x10Amphour. The microcat is a big improvement on my home built boat (1980) but then it ran for ages on one 4 amphour battery!
