'MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLDER TYPE WHERE 3 SEPERATE CRIMPS ARE '
Strengths:
Due to the large area of contact between the jaws and the crimp sleeve only a gorilla could overtighten and damage a sleeve.
Weaknesses:
There is a tendancy for slight build up of tiny bits of dirt etc ti stick around the serrated jaws, needing regular checking and cleaning.
Overall:
I am really pleased with them and they are satisfying to use as they work so well.

'Bloody excellent piece of kit'
Strengths:
None slip handles which can be used eaisly with cold, wet hands on the bank.
The jaws are approx. 1mm wider than the length of the crimp sleeve. Which allows you to eaisly set up 0.5mm of sleeve overhang, which is the correct way to crimp. One medium force sqeeze of the handles is all that is required to make perfect crimps every time.
Weaknesses:
The only weakness that I can see with these pliers is that the Jaws are not coated. For a tool that is going to be used out on the rivers, boats and beaches during the Autumn and Winter period, I really think that corrosion resistance is absolutely necessary
Overall:
I have made up several deadbaiting and lure fishing traces using 7 strand, 28lb wire and some 45kg stainless steel multi strand Conger traces. Each finished crimp is slightly curved in profile with 5 square indentations which crimp the wire.
Each finished crimp has been perfect.
