More about rapijet
Average Rating: 4 out of 5
No. of Reviews: 2
RRP: £14.99
Year: 2007

Description: This incredible mini portable stove is not only ideal for fishing, camping, the beach, BBQ’s, Festivals and for indoor use, but it is refillable with ordinary butane lighter fuel.

No more hunting for a particular make of gas canister! The handy mini gas stove refills from ordinary butane lighter fuel, which can be bought almost anywhere, including garage forecourts, corner shops, supermarkets, newsagents etc.

With built in electronic piezo ignition you don’t even need to find a match or lighter to get it going! More economical than gas cartridges, the 50ml butane fuel tank will last for up to 3hrs - a standard can of butane lighter fuel contains 200-250mls (not supplied).

Complete with a pan support frame, the whole kit is made from robust stainless steel and folds down to a compact size.

When assembled the unit measures 16cm in diameter x 11.5cm high.

'SLOW AND A BIT FIDDLY'
Strengths:
cheap and uses lighter gas. Doesn't weigh much or take up much room. Piezo lighter.
Weaknesses:
Takes 20 minutes to boil 2 pints of water. The metal bends far too easily and is a bit of a pain to assemble (hamfistedness??)
Overall:
Cheap and cheerful. Not much use for a quick hot drink, take a flask. My thirty year old blue gas single burner took 10 minutes as a comparison.

'SMALL COMPACT ,CHEAP'
Strengths:
strong pan support, easily filled, electronic ignition
Weaknesses:
could do with a windbreak, and maybe some spikes to anchor to ground but as can be used on a tabletop who cares, pan support assembly can be a bit fiddly to put together
Overall:
easily fits into luggage, not to heavy, so could be taken stalking along with a small camp kettle.
