'TOUGH AS OLD BOOTS'
Strengths:
Big,tough and will take lots of accessories
Weaknesses:
heavy and a bit dated
Overall:
I have a top box system and backrest also an octoplus leg set with a footrest. This does make it a little cumbersome, but if you use a trlley this is not a big problem.
The thing is huge and you have to be careful not to fill it or you can`t lift it.

'FANTASTIC BASIC BOX '
Strengths:
Indestrucible, lightweight, loads of storage space, big seating area, plenty of accessories
Weaknesses:
Cumbersome to carry (cost of big internal space), not good on uneven ground
Overall:
As budget box, aimed at pleasure angling and newcomers, it is hard to fault.

It is amazingly robust (I've had one for 18 years, and it was second hand when I bought it), it'll carry an enormous amount of tackle and bait when fishing (no need for a separate carrall), it doubles up as a good storage box when not in use, and is dirt cheap especially if you pick one up second hand.

It's only real weakness is that it isn't comfortable on uneven ground, but as most beginners and casual anglers will probably stick to well set out pools or canals, this isn't that much of an issue. I have seen people with a bit of DIY skill easily adapt the box with separate leg sytems, just needs a bit of skill and imagination.

It's no match for modern 'match' boxes, especially for fishing really long poles, but realistically, why would anyone spending £400-£500 on a pole and £20 a session for a match, be looking at a £30 seat box.

'OUT OF DATE FOR MODERN FISHING'
Strengths:
Not many for todays fishing, probably make a good sea box
Weaknesses:
Octoplus fittings dont fit well on this box, box moves when hot by sun, edge of box digs in back of legs making it uncomfortable
Overall:
The design of this box is outdated & for modern fishing with poles etc it does not measure up, mine is now being sold off as i move towards a Preston On Box
