RRP: £5.99
Year: from 2007

Description: The unique Stripper tool is a simple but extremely effective device that can be used for all coated hooklink materials.
FM short review: Certainly a useful tool for coated hooklength users. OK, I’ve got by so far by using my thumbnail, others use their teeth, but this little tool does a better and easier job than both.

'SAVES TIME AND EFFORT'
Strengths:
Small lightweight and practicle little tool ideal for making hook links using coated braids.
Weaknesses:
None as it does exactly what it claims to.
Overall:
I was against buying one of these when they came out, just another toy to take our money, however during the close season it is time to target the carp and tench, so it was time to make up fresh rigs and hooklinks, yes you can make up rigs without it, but when you are making a batch of rigs this little gadget really comes into its own as it is clean quick and easy to use.
Another great little trick is to make up a hair rig with a gap of about 1" between the hook and the coated braid creating a hinge, lots of rigs offer this finish these day's, but now thread the coated braid back through the strippa tool to once again strip the braid, you will now have a double hinged rig offering yet more camoflage as there is a break between the coated sections, the longer the hook link the more breaks you can have to fool those crafty carp, try doing that without one of these tools.

'TOTALLY USELESS!'
Strengths:

The design idea was good but the one I got seemingly slipped by their Quality Control.
Weaknesses:

The one I bought was used twice before the 'blade' bent backwards rendering it totally useless!
Overall:

What can one say about a piece of kit that really didn't perform to its specification?

The only positive I can point to is that it might have been a 'Monday Morning" fabrication, or else it just slipped past the QC people, if they have any.

I won't bother buying another, I'll stick to using my nails or scissors in future, pity really as the concept was good.
